ISD BONDS Godley, TX Criminal Enterprise (On Going)
I came to Godley to fight a school bond. That's all it was supposed to be, one taxpayer, asking why a small district wanted to put millions of dollars of debt on the backs of its families. I expected a fight over numbers, this was also my first true advocacy fight. What I walked into was something I still don't have clean words for: a machine. Records that vanished. Questions that got me threats instead of answers. The deeper I pulled, the worse it got, public money, public trust, and public power being treated like private property by people who never expected anyone to look. It cost me. It cost me money I didn't have, friendships I cherished, and a sense of safety I'm not sure I'll ever fully get back. I have watched people who threatened me get rewarded while I lay awake wondering who was watching me back. It was traumatic, and I won't pretend otherwise. There were nights the smart thing, the safe thing for me to do, was to delete the files and disappear.
I didn't disappear. I filed. I documented. I forced it onto the record where it couldn't be quietly erased, complaint after complaint to the Texas Attorney General and the Texas Education Agency, referrals to the District Attorney and federal investigators, request after request after request until the truth had nowhere left to hide. Arrests followed. Investigations opened. And the people who thought one private citizen would scare off learned that I don't.
Everything below is the proof the records, the filings, the arrests, and the video reports Kayla Lain and I made so that no one could ever bury this in the dark again. I'm not finished, and neither is this fight. But I want anyone reading this, every parent, every taxpayer, every kid who'll inherit this town and any other town, to know it can be done. A few citizens, armed with nothing but public records and the refusal to look away, can drag corruption into the daylight. They counted on us being afraid. They were right. But we did it anyway. And here we are.
